Welcome To The Art Department Webpage!
I encourage you to check this website often for updates about what is going on in the classroom, art shows, and with homework. I am very excited about bringing more technology into my classroom. I believe the 1:1 initiative learning program will not only benefit everyone in our school, but in our school district and community as well!

Advanced Senior Art 3 Students make Pottery!
Select students had the opportunity to go to Western Illinois University to visit the Ceramic department and make Pottery. Under the direction of Ian Shelly, the students made pieces on the wheel, and did some hand building of plates. We would like to thank Ian Shelly, WIU, and Unity High School for letting us have this opportunity!
More painting in the Gym
Unity Art Club helped paint the eagles box in the high school gym.
Painted Tiles
Unity's hallway gets a little artsy
with some famous artwork put up on the ceilings!
A few Art students/Art Club members, helped to paint mustangs on the concession stand in the cafeteria. They did an awesome job!
The Art Department received new art tables last year with a grant from the Unit #4 Foundation. We couldn't be happier, and are very appreciative of the contribution.
Unity Art Teacher and Two Advance Art Students Go To the St. Louis Art Museum
2012
Mrs. Lexi Brumbaugh (Unity Art Teacher) and two advanced Art 3 students Rachel Rush (Senior) and Courtney Rees (Senior), were accepted to participate in Exploring with the Artists program at the St. Louis Art Museum with Perceptual Engineer Willie Cole. Focusing on books as the “everyday” medium for the workshop, Mr. Cole guided the students through deconstructing the physicality of books, utilizing their content to discover depth of meaning, and to create sculptures with books as the main medium. This was such a great opportunity to participate in. Mrs. Brumbaugh and her students would like to thank the St. Louis Art Museum and Willie Cole for the experience, the Quincy Art Center for their donation to help pay for gas, and Unity High School for letting them take this amazing trip.
